Helio Press · Editorial Language

Read the dashboard like a serial.

Komawari prints the product screen as a science-fiction proof sheet: cream paper, comic-panel frames, and three ink plates set slightly out of register on purpose.

01

The signature mechanic

A black key plate, a magenta plate, a cobalt plate — each a few pixels off true. The misregistration is the identity, carried by the CSS, not just the imagery.

Plate K

Inked frames

Every module is a thick black keyline — a custom comic panel, never a rounded generic container.

Plate M

Spot accents

Magenta and cobalt behave like poster spot colours — highlighters, used with restraint, never full-surface glow.

Plate C

Gear-change type

Oversized editorial serif headlines against compressed uppercase monospace metadata — explicit typographic gear changes.

02

Built like a spread

A dominant feature well, sharply framed sidebars, narrative modules arranged by pacing — not homogeneous dashboard symmetry.

Lead Story

One well, framed sidebars

The composition gives the lead survey a tall story column while the dossier rail keeps callsigns, drift, and lock numbers tight and scannable.

Whitespace behaves like magazine pacing: tight inside the data, generous between the beats.

Press notes

A console that admits it's printed — three plates, one cycle, set deliberately out of true.
