Sector Bureau stabilizes damaged discs, memory images, and born-digital evidence — sector by sector, on a frosted bench, with every recovered fragment named, locked, and checksummed.
Every mark on the bench clarifies provenance, lock state, checksum, or scan depth. Nothing decorates; nothing guesses. The disc is read read-only, again and again, until the sectors come back.
Conservative re-reads accumulate weak sectors without ever writing to the source media. Each pass is hashed.
Delamination and dropouts are recorded as labelled sectors and offsets — never as ornament, always with provenance.
A recovered object is named, timestamped, checksummed, and sealed into chain-of-custody. The state is read in a still frame.
A large asymmetric recovery field carries the disc; contact strips and indexes subordinate around it. The optical-sector geometry sits quietly behind the work, never as a luminous centerpiece.
