Pairs with squeegee

Make the screen shout

Klaxon is a loud monochrome interface language: paper-white fields, uncompromising black outlines, oversized grotesk, and one acid slab punched in where the product needs to raise its voice. Built for tools that refuse to whisper.

01The system

Structure you can see

Borders aren’t separators here — they are the main graphic voice. Offsets, shadows, and monospace tags explain containment out loud. Nothing hides behind polish.

01
Heavy outlines

Black does the framing

Every container is drawn with a 3–5px black contour and a hard offset shadow, so the layout reads as stacked cut-paper blocks — no soft cards, no grey edges.

Acid slab

One loud interruption

Color shows up as a blunt rectangular slab punched behind a phrase or button — never a full-width wash. It puncture-marks the page, then gets out of the way.

Mono tags

Annotated like a zine

Metadata lives in bordered monospace capsules in the corners of cards, reinforcing an honest, annotated workshop feel instead of anonymous product chrome.

Quiet interfaces are easy to ignore.

Klaxon is for the screens that need to be heard — dashboards, decks, control rooms, and zines that would rather shout in black ink than fade into another grey SaaS panel.

02Run sheet

Three passes to a printed page

The language behaves like a press: set the type, punch the slab, pull the proof.

01

Set the type

Oversized grotesk headlines, body held at 17px, compact monospace for every label. Scale shock first.

02

Punch the slab

Drop one acid block behind the phrase that matters most. Keep the rest of the canvas monochrome.

03

Pull the proof

Hard black borders and offset shadows lock every block on register. Controls move like printed blocks.

03Proof

Built into a working desk

The same system runs an operations dashboard, an embodiment specimen, and a shadcn theme — all on the same heavy-ink grid.

Dashboard

Operations desk

A dense run register, stat stacks, and a leaning sticky note — boxed clearly so it reads energetic, not chaotic.

Specimen

Full embodiment

Type, controls, data, forms, and the ink budget — every signature pattern shown, not merely cited.
