Label the machine. Not the dashboard.

Caliper reads like an official cockpit systems sheet: matte graphite, broad black gutters, warm off-white inspection panels, hairline blue-white HUD geometry, and one safety-orange callout rail that joins a numbered chip to exactly the part it describes.

A — THE SIGNATURE MECHANIC

One callout rail, used everywhere.

A small orange chip, an orthogonal 1px leader that bends at right angles, and the fragment it points at. It is how a maintenance manual labels a part — and it is the whole language at every scale.

B — THE SYSTEM

Material, not chrome.

Three surfaces do the work: matte graphite shell, warm off-white inspection paper, and pale HUD glass — recoloured by role so a palette swap never breaks the instrument.

Warm off-white stock with hard black crop marks carries the long-form note, a guest on the shell.
