The signature mechanic

One read-head,
nothing else lit

Every region is sprocket-fed paper threaded over the platen. Records advance at a fixed pitch, tear at the perforation, and exactly one — the record under the carriage — wears the teal read-head. Hierarchy comes from type and the transport, never from a colour pasted on a card edge.

Sprocket feed

A tractor margin runs the length of every panel. Fixed-pitch holes set the rhythm of the whole page, so rows, readouts and records share one cadence.

The perforation

Records are separated by a dashed tear-line, not a border. Cleared work is torn off the roll; held work stays threaded above the carriage.

The carriage

One horizontal teal line marks the record being read. Sign-off advances the carriage to the next strip. Everything else stays in sepia carbon.
