Caliper
INSPECTION BENCH · v2.6

Drawn to the last graduation.

Caliper is a measuring bench for machined parts. Every reading lands on the engraved scale, every datum is registered, and one copper index marks the part you are clamped on right now.

How the bench reads

Three instruments, one engraved scale.

Caliper keeps the discipline of a real measuring bench: graduations you can trust, scope you set with your own hands, and exactly one live reading lit at a time.

01 / scale

The engraved rule

A graduated rail anchors every panel — major and minor ticks, never a decorative grid. Readings sit on the scale, not floating in space.

02 / index

The copper index

One copper mark per scale shows the live measure — the reading, the threshold, the part in the jaws. Nothing else carries the colour.

03 / registration

Datum registration

Steel crosshairs lock each part to a datum face before it is read, so every batch measures from the same zero. Repeatable, not approximate.

The reading is the hero. The chrome is the rule.

Open a part and the whole bench resolves to one number. The scale draws itself behind it; the copper index slides to where you are clamped; the metadata clamps to the rail underneath.

Delta against nominal, computed the instant you clamp.
Out-of-tolerance parts flag in steel, then red — never silent.
Every reading writes a row to the batch log, datum and all.

Read, registered, and on record.

A full bench session is a ledger of measured parts. Copper marks the live row; steel marks a held datum; tolerance state is always shown, never assumed.

OPEN THE BENCH

Clamp the first part. The scale does the rest.

Set your datum, drop in a specimen, and read it to the last graduation. Caliper keeps the log, marks the live measure in copper, and never lets a reading float free of the rule.
