Phosphene

Read the room in lit cells, not smooth bars.

Phosphene draws every reading as a count of glowing square cells on dark glass. Amber means working, cyan means waiting, magenta means a peak — you read state by colour and value by count.

No smooth gradients. Just cells.

The signature mechanic

A value is a count. A colour is a state.

There is one idea to learn and it carries the whole interface. Every quantity is a run of cells; the lit ones count the value and their colour tells you what kind of moment it is.

Amber is working

Active ingest, running jobs, throughput in flight. Amber cells fill left to right as the load climbs and glow while the work is live.

Cyan is waiting

Idle replicas, informational counts, anything holding steady. Cyan reads as calm — present, healthy, not asking for you.

Magenta is a peak

A buffer near cap, a fault, a record high. A single magenta cell is enough to pull your eye — it is a spark, never a fill.

Live plate

One glance tells you where the load sits.

A real readout from the Coil Street ops floor, drawn entirely in cells — no chart libraries, no gradients.

How it reads

Built to be read across a dim room.

Phosphene settles, then glows. The page renders complete with no script; motion only charges the cells once you arrive.

01 · settle

Cells land lit

The full panel renders without any script, so every reading is correct the instant the page paints.

02 · charge

Meters fill in sequence

On arrival, cells light left to right like a meter charging — meaning, not decoration. Reduced-motion skips straight to settled.

03 · read

Colour carries state

Three inks, used like highlighters, let you read amber-working, cyan-waiting and magenta-peak at a glance.

Put your numbers on dark glass.

Drop the Phosphene tokens into your dashboard and your readings turn into lit cells you can read from across the room.
