A stewardship interface for people who watch one living slope across the seasons. Read every surface the way you read a soil core — top to bottom, by depth.
The living metre
The first metre is all appetite — root threads, worm casts, last autumn’s leaf-fall turning to crumb. Terrace logs the living depth every dawn: moisture at forty centimetres, soil warmth at the crown, the morning the frost lets go of the bank.

Where the years settle
Below the roots, time slows to sediment. Fine bands stack a season at a time — a wet spring pale, a dry summer dark — until the record runs deeper than memory. The ink slips, then registers, and the count holds.
The core, laminated
At the bottom the layers bond — bedrock laminated under its own weight, the whole slope pressed into one read. The survey closes; the core is logged.
