Atelier Sarcelle · two inks, one sheet, since 1974
A working press on the old quay at Marseille. Everything that leaves this room is exactly two colours deep.

Pull two · plate order fixed
The second
pull
The first plate lays aqua and the sheet rests. The second plate lays marigold a hair off true, and where the two cross the paper turns bottle green. That third colour is never mixed in a bucket — the press makes it, and it is the only green we own.
Pull three · the drying wall
Proofs pinned
while they cure
Every run leaves three proofs on the wall: the first pull, the corrected pull, and the one we sign off.
Pull four · pressure
Dot gain
Lean on the drum and the dot spreads. Halfway across the sheet the picture stops being a picture and becomes a grid you can count.

Where the plates cross
Two inks, one overlap, one green that only exists on paper. Register sealed at zero — the sheet is signed and the run is good.
