guidance
- Use pale material restraint with matte ivory and off-gray surfaces rather than glossy dark UI.
- Write labels as diagnostic evidence: coordinates, tolerances, specimen IDs, and state confirmations.
- Keep cyan, violet, and amber accents semantic so every color mark communicates safety, drift, or warning.
- Use linework, grids, registration rings, and callout leaders as the primary visual structure.
- Do not use green matrix rain, terminal hacker clichés, or generic cyberpunk dashboards.
- Do not build equal SaaS card grids; the composition needs one dominant calibration field and uneven evidence rails.
- Do not add decorative glow, neon gradients, drop-shadow depth, or full-character anime poster imagery.
- Do not leave browser-default controls; every input, select, checkbox, and button must look like an instrument surface.

# Orbital Prosthetic Calibration Systems
## Overview
A prosthetic alignment interface language where orbital mechanics become clinical layout logic: arcs, registration rings, limb telemetry, and silence around high-precision calibration.
### Values
- clinical restraint over spectacle
- evidence-first hierarchy
- large quiet fields with precise instrument density
- manga-structural linework without character fan art
- machine intimacy expressed through labels, gaps, and calibration marks
### Anti-Values
- no green matrix rain
- no generic hacker dashboards
- no neon cyberpunk gradients
- no SaaS card grids
- no decorative glow or full-character anime posters
### Visual Character
- Pale ivory laboratory surfaces use #f7f5ee and #eef0ec with crisp 1px #151716 carbon rules instead of decorative panels.
- Asymmetric manual-sheet compositions reserve one large quiet calibration field while dense evidence rails align to a 4px annotation grid.
- Micro labels, tick marks, registration crosses, and coordinate hashes cluster near joints, diagrams, and state changes, leaving clinical whitespace intact.
- Muted cyan #6fd6e8 indicates safe telemetry paths, violet #8f82d8 and amber #c89a3a mark calibration drift or warnings only.
## Colors
Use the YAML color tokens as the normative palette. The prose below names the roles agents should preserve when generating UI.

- **Carbon**: 1px solid #151716 for primary registration edges
- **Standard**: 1px solid #c9cbc7
## Components
### Composition
Build one dominant quiet field, one dense instrument cluster, and one marginal evidence rail. Avoid equal card rows.
### Density
Alternate sparse archival whitespace with compressed 4px-8px annotation systems.
### Hierarchy
Operational state and evidence labels beat marketing copy. Accent color marks state, exception, or proof only.
### Signature Patterns
- Orbital registration rings are drawn with SVG or CSS conic/radial guides, thin tick marks, and broken arcs around the active prosthetic joint.
- Prosthetic joint diagrams use skeletal linework, square node handles, coordinate labels, and small tolerance bands instead of illustrative character art.
- Telemetry tick arcs wrap around quiet specimen zones with cyan progress strokes, numeric hash labels, and amber/violet exception markers.
- Sterile calibration sheets combine matte paper backgrounds, 1px black instrument rules, cropped axes, and large untouched whitespace like a technical manual.
- Manga medical callouts appear as compact leader lines, boxed kana-like labels, and marginal evidence notes that point to measurement changes.
## shadcn/ui Usage
When the target app uses shadcn/ui, copy DESIGN.md with shadcn instead of the plain DESIGN.md. It contains the same Katagami design-language source plus the shadcn/ui primitives, imports, theme variables, component recipes, and preview-shot guidance.
DESIGN.md with shadcn: `/language/en-019e0500-5dda-7c72-af94-5718aba6aa17/DESIGN.with-shadcn.md`.
The shadcn page also exposes optional machine-readable files for automation, but the human-facing handoff is DESIGN.md with shadcn.
Install recommended primitives with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.
Use these primitives in shadcn apps:
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Implementation rule for agents: import shadcn primitives from `@/components/ui/*`, apply the generated CSS variables first, then compose the language-specific recipes from the companion MD. Katagami remains the source of truth; shadcn names are the implementation surface.
## Do's and Don'ts
- Do Use pale material restraint with matte ivory and off-gray surfaces rather than glossy dark UI.
- Do Write labels as diagnostic evidence: coordinates, tolerances, specimen IDs, and state confirmations.
- Do Keep cyan, violet, and amber accents semantic so every color mark communicates safety, drift, or warning.
- Do Use linework, grids, registration rings, and callout leaders as the primary visual structure.
- Don't Do not use green matrix rain, terminal hacker clichés, or generic cyberpunk dashboards.
- Don't Do not build equal SaaS card grids; the composition needs one dominant calibration field and uneven evidence rails.
- Don't Do not add decorative glow, neon gradients, drop-shadow depth, or full-character anime poster imagery.
- Don't Do not leave browser-default controls; every input, select, checkbox, and button must look like an instrument surface.
### Usage Context

Slug: `orbital-prosthetic-calibration-systems`
## Intent
A prosthetic alignment interface language where orbital mechanics become clinical layout logic: arcs, registration rings, limb telemetry, and silence around high-precision calibration.
## Required primitives
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu

## Visual character to preserve
- Pale ivory laboratory surfaces use #f7f5ee and #eef0ec with crisp 1px #151716 carbon rules instead of decorative panels.
- Asymmetric manual-sheet compositions reserve one large quiet calibration field while dense evidence rails align to a 4px annotation grid.
- Micro labels, tick marks, registration crosses, and coordinate hashes cluster near joints, diagrams, and state changes, leaving clinical whitespace intact.
- Muted cyan #6fd6e8 indicates safe telemetry paths, violet #8f82d8 and amber #c89a3a mark calibration drift or warnings only.

## Signature component recipes
### Button
Use `Button` for primary, secondary, outline, and ghost actions. Primary actions must expose the language's strongest contrast pair, while secondary and ghost actions should preserve the surface treatment instead of falling back to default neutral SaaS styling.
### Card
Use `Card`, `CardHeader`, `CardContent`, `CardFooter`, and `CardAction` as the main composition frame. Cards should demonstrate the language's surface, border, hierarchy, and density rules rather than appearing as generic rounded rectangles.
### Input and Textarea
Use `Input` and `Textarea` with visible focus rings, field labels, validation states, and the language's rhythm. Forms should show real product content, not placeholder-only controls.
### Select, Tabs, and Table
Use `Select`, `Tabs`, and `Table` to prove navigation, filtering, and dense data states. The table should show row rhythm, separators, hover/focus states, and an empty or status state when the language calls for it.
### Dialog and Sheet
Use `Dialog` for centered decisions and `Sheet` for contextual editing. Both should inherit the language's spacing, border, overlay, and motion rules.
## Preview shots
- `application-shell`: dashboard or workspace shell with navigation, cards, forms, and state badges.
- `detail-editor`: focused editing flow using input, textarea, select, switch/checkbox, dialog or sheet, and action buttons.
- `data-operations`: table-heavy operational view with tabs, dropdown menu affordances, badges, and destructive/empty states.
- Each preview shot must include a renderable `scene` payload with concrete headline, description, actions, and rows/fields/stats for the UI preview.
## Implementation contract
- Start from local `ui/src/components/ui` shadcn-style primitives; do not create a second component system.
- Apply `/katagami/shadcn/orbital-prosthetic-calibration-systems/registry-theme.json` variables, then use these recipes for composition and state design.
- Preserve Katagami token names as source metadata; shadcn semantic names are only the export surface.
- Do: Use pale material restraint with matte ivory and off-gray surfaces rather than glossy dark UI.; Write labels as diagnostic evidence: coordinates, tolerances, specimen IDs, and state confirmations.; Keep cyan, violet, and amber accents semantic so every color mark communicates safety, drift, or warning.; Use linework, grids, registration rings, and callout leaders as the primary visual structure.
- Do not: Do not use green matrix rain, terminal hacker clichés, or generic cyberpunk dashboards.; Do not build equal SaaS card grids; the composition needs one dominant calibration field and uneven evidence rails.; Do not add decorative glow, neon gradients, drop-shadow depth, or full-character anime poster imagery.; Do not leave browser-default controls; every input, select, checkbox, and button must look like an instrument surface.
## Copy-paste component example
This generated starter proves the import shape. Production Katagami agents should replace it with a language-specific product composition.
