rules
Sparse but not empty: one object, one action, and two to three metadata points per card, with a dense order strip balanced by a large calm hero shelf.
layout
mobile 375px, tablet 768px, desktop 1200px and above
Airy commerce density with a deliberate contrast between tight metadata clusters at 4-12px and shelf-to-shelf pauses at 64-128px; this keeps candy softness premium rather than toy-box crowded.
A 12-column desktop shelf grid with a dominant 7-column feature card beside smaller 5-column supporting stacks; tablet collapses to two columns and mobile to one column with product order preserved.
Desktop at 1200px and above uses asymmetric shelves; tablet at 768px uses a two-column stack with the hero first; mobile at 375px becomes a single-column product story with reduced but still contrasted gaps.
Whitespace is generous and musical: 24px card padding, 48px internal shelf gutters, 96px section pauses, and 128px hero breathing room.
guidance
- Use warm white opaque content surfaces for all readable text.
- Limit each view section to peach, lychee, honeydew, or pale aqua as a single controlled accent.
- Pair translucent gel accents with restrained shadows and clear typographic hierarchy.
- Let empty space carry the youthful softness instead of adding illustrations.
- Make one card or shelf clearly dominant so the composition avoids equal-weight catalog grids.
- Use short dewline dividers and single gel tabs as the nameable signature elements.
- Keep body text at 16px with -0.02em tracking and display headings at -0.035em.
- Do not use rainbow palettes, neon glows, or loud multi-stop gradients.
- Do not cover text with frosted glass or reduce foreground legibility.
- Do not add childish toy stickers, cluttered blobs, or excessive rounded gimmicks.
- Do not make every card a different color; accents must be sparse and deliberate.
- Do not combine one-sided colored borders with rounded card edges; use separate square pseudo-elements if an indicator is needed.
- Do not use three equal cards as the lead composition.
- Do not introduce banned AI-tell fonts or default browser form styling.

# Dew Candy Minimalism ## Philosophy Dew Candy Minimalism turns specific product-card commerce screens into calm warm-white shelves with one sorbet gel accent at a time. The language borrows from milk glass, fruit candy wrappers, and Japanese stationery restraint, but it refuses childish clutter: translucent edges and condensation-like highlights exist only where they clarify hierarchy. Its point of view is soft, tactile, and highly edited; pages feel dew-fresh because most surfaces remain opaque white, most borders nearly disappear, and every accent is rationed to a single small gesture per object. ### Values - single-subject clarity - dew-fresh tactility - controlled sorbet warmth - legible translucent depth - edited whitespace over ornament - specific product storytelling ### Anti-Values - rainbow ramps and loud multi-stop gradients - toy-like childish blob clutter - generic pastel SaaS sameness - neon gamer glow - translucent text containers that harm legibility ### Visual Character - Warm mist page backgrounds use fixed radial dew washes at very low opacity below a mostly white interface; the washes are ambient atmosphere, not multicolor gradient decoration. - Cards are single-subject rounded rectangles with one primary 24px radius, translucent 1px warm-neutral borders, inset white glints, and restrained warm shadows. - Each product card receives exactly one low-opacity gel lozenge, tab, droplet, or short underline in peach, lychee, honeydew, or pale aqua so color never becomes a rainbow system. - Hierarchy is built with compact mono eyebrow labels, Fraunces display headlines, generous headline leading, sparse metadata rows, and a wide rhythm between card groups. - Interactive emphasis appears as a two-pixel lift and a migrating glossy pseudo-element across the gel accent; motion is condensed and quiet rather than bouncy or playful. ## Tokens ### Borders - **Accent Width**: 2px - **Character**: barely visible separators that catch light instead of outlining every component; translucent gel is a nearby signal, not a text container. ### Density Sparse but not empty: one object, one action, and two to three metadata points per card, with a dense order strip balanced by a large calm hero shelf. ### Hierarchy - Lead with a soft Fraunces display headline set tight at -0.035em and line-height near 1.12. - Use IBM Plex Mono for tiny shelf labels, batch codes, and status chips so detail feels precise rather than cute. - Group price, stock, and action metadata into compact rows with 4-12px internal gaps, separated from card groups by 64-128px outer air. - Make the primary object or hero card visibly larger than supporting items; never present three equal cards as the main statement. ### Signature Patterns - One-accent card rule: every card may contain only a single sorbet gel lozenge, droplet, tab, or underline highlight, implemented as a separate pseudo-element or child. - Frosted gel tabs use backdrop-filter blur, inset white highlights, and low-opacity fills while all body text remains on opaque white for contrast. - Dewline dividers are short translucent strokes used as shelf markers; they never span full width and never become rainbow separators. - Resting elevation stacks a warm outer shadow with an inset top glint so cards feel soft and tactile without floating dramatically. - Hover states translate cards by two pixels and slide a narrow glossy pseudo-element across the gel accent only, using the condensation easing token. ## Layout ### Breakpoints mobile 375px, tablet 768px, desktop 1200px and above ### Density Airy commerce density with a deliberate contrast between tight metadata clusters at 4-12px and shelf-to-shelf pauses at 64-128px; accents are decorative and never the only status cue. Body copy stays at 16px, focus states use visible warm-neutral outlines, and motion is short enough to respect reduced-motion preferences. ### Usage Context Best for boutique commerce, ritual product shelves, fresh goods subscriptions, and editorial product detail screens where tactile softness should support clear purchase decisions.

# Dew Candy Minimalism
## Overview
Dew Candy Minimalism turns specific product-card commerce screens into calm warm-white shelves with one sorbet gel accent at a time.
### Values
- single-subject clarity
- dew-fresh tactility
- controlled sorbet warmth
- legible translucent depth
- edited whitespace over ornament
- specific product storytelling
### Anti-Values
- rainbow ramps and loud multi-stop gradients
- toy-like childish blob clutter
- generic pastel SaaS sameness
- neon gamer glow
- translucent text containers that harm legibility
### Visual Character
- Warm mist page backgrounds use fixed radial dew washes at very low opacity below a mostly white interface; the washes are ambient atmosphere, not multicolor gradient decoration.

## Components
### Composition
- Use coplanar shelves of product cards on a warm-white canvas, with one dominant oversized feature card and smaller supporting cards aligned to the same baseline rhythm.
- Break the grid once per view with an inset hero panel or full-width shelf strip so the composition never becomes equal-card catalog repetition.
- Keep accents attached to product meaning: gel color may identify freshness, stock, care ritual, or flavor family, but never arbitrary decoration.
- Let one spacious merchandising moment sit beside a denser cluster of product options to create an 8:1 spacing rhythm.
- Keep all readable text on opaque white or warm mist surfaces; translucent gel is a nearby signal, not a text container.
### Density
Sparse but not empty: one object, one action, and two to three metadata points per card, with a dense order strip balanced by a large calm hero shelf.
### Hierarchy
- Lead with a soft Fraunces display headline set tight at -0.035em and line-height near 1.12.
### Signature Patterns
- One-accent card rule: every card may contain only a single sorbet gel lozenge, droplet, tab, or underline highlight, implemented as a separate pseudo-element or child.
## shadcn/ui Usage
When the target app uses shadcn/ui, copy DESIGN.md with shadcn instead of the plain DESIGN.md. It contains the same Katagami design-language source plus the shadcn/ui primitives, imports, theme variables, component recipes, and preview-shot guidance.
DESIGN.md with shadcn: `/language/en-019e0a58-61d0-71c3-bf1d-f6901b314159/DESIGN.with-shadcn.md`.
The shadcn page also exposes optional machine-readable files for automation, but the human-facing handoff is DESIGN.md with shadcn.
Install recommended primitives with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.
Use these primitives in shadcn apps:
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Implementation rule for agents: import shadcn primitives from `@/components/ui/*`, apply the generated CSS variables first, then compose the language-specific recipes from the companion MD. Katagami remains the source of truth; shadcn names are the implementation surface.
## Do's and Don'ts

# Dew Candy Minimalism shadcn/ui Components
Artifact: `component-recipes-v1`
Author: `katagami-ui-projection`

Slug: `dew-candy-minimalism`
## Intent
Dew Candy Minimalism turns specific product-card commerce screens into calm warm-white shelves with one sorbet gel accent at a time.

- card
- input

- badge
- separator

## Visual character to preserve
- Warm mist page backgrounds use fixed radial dew washes at very low opacity below a mostly white interface; the washes are ambient atmosphere, not multicolor gradient decoration.

## Signature component recipes
### Button
Use `Button` for primary, secondary, outline, and ghost actions. Primary actions must expose the language's strongest contrast pair, while secondary and ghost actions should preserve the surface treatment instead of falling back to default neutral SaaS styling.
### Card
Use `Card`, `CardHeader`, `CardContent`, `CardFooter`, and `CardAction` as the main composition frame. Cards should demonstrate the language's surface, border, hierarchy, and density rules rather than appearing as generic rounded rectangles.
### Input and Textarea
Use `Input` and `Textarea` with visible focus rings, field labels, validation states, and the language's rhythm. Forms should show real product content, not placeholder-only controls.
### Select, Tabs, and Table
Use `Select`, `Tabs`, and `Table` to prove navigation, filtering, and dense data states. The table should show row rhythm, separators, hover/focus states, and an empty or status state when the language calls for it.
### Dialog and Sheet
Use `Dialog` for centered decisions and `Sheet` for contextual editing. Both should inherit the language's spacing, border, overlay, and motion rules.
## Preview shots
- `application-shell`: dashboard or workspace shell with navigation, cards, forms, and state badges.
- `detail-editor`: focused editing flow using input, textarea, select, switch/checkbox, dialog or sheet, and action buttons.
- `data-operations`: table-heavy operational view with tabs, dropdown menu affordances, badges, and destructive/empty states.
- Each preview shot must include a renderable `scene` payload with concrete headline, description, actions, and rows/fields/stats for the UI preview.
## Implementation contract
- Start from local `ui/src/components/ui` shadcn-style primitives; do not create a second component system.
- Apply `/katagami/shadcn/dew-candy-minimalism/registry-theme.json` variables, then use these recipes for composition and state design.
- Preserve Katagami token names as source metadata; shadcn semantic names are only the export surface.
- Do: Use warm white opaque content surfaces for all readable text.; Limit each view section to peach, lychee, honeydew, or pale aqua as a single controlled accent.; Pair translucent gel accents with restrained shadows and clear typographic hierarchy.; Let empty space carry the youthful softness instead of adding illustrations.; Make one card or shelf clearly dominant so the composition avoids equal-weight catalog grids.; Use short dewline dividers and single gel tabs as the nameable signature elements.; Keep body text at 16px with -0.02em tracking and display headings at -0.035em.
- Do not: Do not use rainbow palettes, neon glows, or loud multi-stop gradients.; Do not cover text with frosted glass or reduce foreground legibility.; Do not add childish toy stickers, cluttered blobs, or excessive rounded gimmicks.; Do not make every card a different color; accents must be sparse and deliberate.; Do not combine one-sided colored borders with rounded card edges; use separate square pseudo-elements if an indicator is needed.; Do not use three equal cards as the lead composition.; Do not introduce banned AI-tell fonts or default browser form styling.
## Copy-paste component example
This generated starter proves the import shape. Production Katagami agents should replace it with a language-specific product composition.
