composition

Use one dominant product artifact per screen, usually a large rounded card or device-control surface, with secondary content orbiting it in smaller calm panels.

density

Comfortable consumer density with large touch targets, sparse labels, and at least one 64px breathing gap between the hero artifact and supporting panels.

hierarchy

Reserve saturated color for the primary state, active selection, or next action; typography and whitespace carry the rest of the hierarchy.

signature patterns
Chroma reservoir wells appear as rounded inset panels or circular meters where the active product state is being measured or changed.Active controls receive a full-perimeter color ring and pale fill, never a left rail, stripe, or small decorative color chip.Product cards clip a soft radial halo behind the most important numeric value, making color structural while leaving the rest of the surface white.Selection groups use pill geometry with one filled capsule and adjacent quiet capsules so the chosen mode is obvious without adding more hues.
layout
breakpoints

Mobile 375px, tablet 768px, desktop 1200px; hero and context columns reflow before controls shrink below comfortable tap size.

grid

Asymmetric product canvas: a wide hero column and a narrower context column on desktop, collapsing to a single stacked column on mobile.

whitespace

Whitespace is the main luxury cue: use 8px tight label gaps, 24px related group gaps, and 64px or more between major regions.

guidance
do
  • Use one primary blue-green chroma reservoir with a warm accent only for calibration, comfort, or human confirmation moments.
  • Let large neutral surfaces and typography establish calm before introducing color in meters, active tabs, or focus rings.
  • Make every component state preserve full rounded geometry: fill, ring, and subtle scale are preferred over stripes or extra icons.
  • Choose specific consumer-product scenes such as home comfort, wellness devices, travel planning, or personal tools rather than admin dashboards.
avoid
  • Do not use rainbow defaults, arbitrary confetti, square grids, dotted notebook texture as motif, or neon cyberpunk color.
  • Do not add side-rail or stripe accents to cards, rows, panels, or buttons; accent must wrap, fill, or sit inside the component.
  • Do not build generic SaaS dashboards, component catalogs, or data tables as the primary embodiment scene.
  • Do not mix arbitrary radius sizes; the language depends on a soft product geometry family.

# Luma Reserve Product System

## Philosophy

Luma Reserve is a clean consumer-product language for calm, Apple-like interfaces where color is not decoration but a reserved material used to reveal the one thing the person should understand or adjust next.

### Values

- Product-first clarity with generous white space and only a few high-confidence controls visible at once.
- Fresh chroma used as a structural reservoir: selected surfaces, live meters, and focus states share one recognizable color behavior.
- Premium approachability through softened geometry, precise spacing, and a warmer display voice for key product moments.
- Scene-first usefulness: every accent marks a real appliance, habit, or environmental state instead of proving colorfulness.

### Anti-Values

- Rainbow palettes, arbitrary confetti, neon glow, startup blobs, or color added merely to fill empty space.
- Generic admin dashboards, square-grid backgrounds, decorative side rails, and left-stripe accents on cards or buttons.
- Unmotivated notebook texture or textbook-page imitation when the product scene does not require it.

### Visual Character

- Porcelain white page background with large unbordered calm zones and isolated rounded device cards using 28px to 36px corner radii.
- A single blue-green chroma reservoir appears as inset wells, circular meters, active tabs, and focus rings rather than stripes or garnish.
- Hero hierarchy pairs a soft serif display headline with a highly legible rounded sans body, using tight tracking only on large titles.
- Key product states use translucent radial color halos clipped inside cards with no square grid, confetti, or repeated dot texture.
- Controls float on low-contrast borders and hairline separators, with active states expressed by fill, ring, and scale instead of heavy shadows.

### Anti-Values

- Rainbow palettes, arbitrary confetti, neon glow, startup blobs, or color added merely to fill empty space.
- Generic admin dashboards, square-grid backgrounds, decorative side rails, and left-stripe accents on cards or buttons.
- Unmotivated notebook texture or textbook-page imitation when the product scene does not require it.

### Visual Character

## shadcn/ui Usage

When the target app uses shadcn/ui, copy DESIGN.md with shadcn instead of the plain DESIGN.md. It contains the same Katagami design-language source plus the shadcn/ui primitives, imports, theme variables, component recipes, and preview-shot guidance.

DESIGN.md with shadcn: `/language/en-019e464a-cd2a-7542-adce-2ac9a9883af2/DESIGN.with-shadcn.md`.

The shadcn page also exposes optional machine-readable files for automation, but the human-facing handoff is DESIGN.md with shadcn.

Install recommended primitives with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.

Use these primitives in shadcn apps:
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table

Implementation rule for agents: import shadcn primitives from `@/components/ui/*`, apply the generated CSS variables first, then compose the language-specific recipes from the companion MD. Katagami remains the source of truth; shadcn names are the implementation surface.

## Do's and Don'ts

- Do Use one primary blue-green chroma reservoir with a warm accent only for calibration, comfort, or human confirmation moments.
- Do Let large neutral surfaces and typography establish calm before introducing color in meters, active tabs, or focus rings.
- Do Make every component state preserve full rounded geometry: fill, ring, and subtle scale are preferred over stripes or extra icons.
- Do Choose specific consumer-product scenes such as home comfort, wellness devices, travel planning, or personal tools rather than admin dashboards.
- Don't Do not use rainbow defaults, arbitrary confetti, square grids, dotted notebook texture as motif, or neon cyberpunk color.
- Don't Do not add side-rail or stripe accents to cards, rows, panels, or buttons; accent must wrap, fill, or sit inside the component.
- Don't Do not build generic SaaS dashboards, component catalogs, or data tables as the primary embodiment scene.
- Don't Do not mix arbitrary radius sizes; the language depends on a soft product geometry family.

# Luma Reserve Product System shadcn/ui Components

Artifact: `component-recipes-v1`
Author: `katagami-ui-projection`
Language ID: `en-019e464a-cd2a-7542-adce-2ac9a9883af2`
Slug: `luma-reserve-product-system`

## Intent

Luma Reserve is a clean consumer-product language for calm, Apple-like interfaces where color is not decoration but a reserved material used to reveal the one thing the person should understand or adjust next.

## Required primitives

- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table

Install with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.

  "surface": "#FFFFFF",
  "text": "#17211F",
  "warning": "#B87922"
}

Typography:

}

## Visual character to preserve

## ShadSync visual profile

{

}

## Signature component recipes

### Button
Use `Button` for primary, secondary, outline, and ghost actions. Primary actions must expose the language's strongest contrast pair, while secondary and ghost actions should preserve the surface treatment instead of falling back to default neutral SaaS styling.

### Card
Use `Card`, `CardHeader`, `CardContent`, `CardFooter`, and `CardAction` as the main composition frame. Cards should demonstrate the language's surface, border, hierarchy, and density rules rather than appearing as generic rounded rectangles.

### Input and Textarea
Use `Input` and `Textarea` with visible focus rings, field labels, validation states, and the language's rhythm. Forms should show real product content, not placeholder-only controls.

### Select, Tabs, and Table
Use `Select`, `Tabs`, and `Table` to prove navigation, filtering, and dense data states. The table should show row rhythm, separators, hover/focus states, and an empty or status state when the language calls for it.

### Dialog and Sheet
Use `Dialog` for centered decisions and `Sheet` for contextual editing. Both should inherit the language's spacing, border, overlay, and motion rules.

## Preview shots

- `application-shell`: dashboard or workspace shell with navigation, cards, forms, and state badges.
- `detail-editor`: focused editing flow using input, textarea, select, switch/checkbox, dialog or sheet, and action buttons.
- `data-operations`: table-heavy operational view with tabs, dropdown menu affordances, badges, and destructive/empty states.
- Each preview shot must include a renderable `scene` payload with concrete headline, description, actions, and rows/fields/stats for the UI preview.

## Implementation contract

- Start from local `ui/src/components/ui` shadcn-style primitives; do not create a second component system.
- Apply `/katagami/shadcn/luma-reserve-product-system/registry-theme.json` variables, then use these recipes for composition and state design.
- Preserve Katagami token names as source metadata; shadcn semantic names are only the export surface.
- Do: Use one primary blue-green chroma reservoir with a warm accent only for calibration, comfort, or human confirmation moments.; Let large neutral surfaces and typography establish calm before introducing color in meters, active tabs, or focus rings.; Make every component state preserve full rounded geometry: fill, ring, and subtle scale are preferred over stripes or extra icons.; Choose specific consumer-product scenes such as home comfort, wellness devices, travel planning, or personal tools rather than admin dashboards.
- Do not: Do not use rainbow defaults, arbitrary confetti, square grids, dotted notebook texture as motif, or neon cyberpunk color.; Do not add side-rail or stripe accents to cards, rows, panels, or buttons; accent must wrap, fill, or sit inside the component.; Do not build generic SaaS dashboards, component catalogs, or data tables as the primary embodiment scene.; Do not mix arbitrary radius sizes; the language depends on a soft product geometry family.

## Copy-paste component example

This generated starter proves the import shape. Production Katagami agents should replace it with a language-specific product composition.
