rules
Use a specific product workspace instead of a generic dashboard: a specimen review canvas with a verification rail and a floating sequence inspector as the memorable spatial relationship.
Moderate density: sequence data can be compact, but panels breathe with 24px to 48px gaps and tight 4px to 8px relationships inside chip runs.
Lead with crisp headings, mono sequence metadata, and state-bearing nucleobase chips; larger size alone is never the only hierarchy cue.
layout
mobile 375px stacks panels; tablet 768px keeps inspector below workspace; desktop 1440px uses full two-column shell with overlay.
Desktop uses a 12-column product shell with a 7-column sequence workspace, 3-column verification rail, and floating inspector breaking the grid.
Whitespace is intentional and asymmetric: 48px between regions, 24px inside panels, and 4px within micro-sequence clusters for a clear eight-to-one spacing contrast.
guidance
- Use sequence pixels only where they carry selection, match, focus, or lineage meaning.
- Keep backgrounds white or warm-neutral with no dotted or square-grid texture.
- Reserve turquoise, indigo, and green accents for concrete states and keep warning amber rare.
- Give one artifact or inspector visual dominance instead of equal-card rows.
- Do not use literal DNA helix wallpaper, molecule decorations, lab glassware, or textbook diagrams.
- Do not add colored left rails, side stripes, chipped corners, uneven borders, or default dotted backgrounds.
- Do not let rainbow status colors, generic dashboard metrics, or medical-SaaS chrome replace the sequence grammar.
- Do not scatter pixel marks as a game skin; make them small, precise, and product-functional.

# Sequence Lumen Interface ## Philosophy Sequence Lumen Interface turns genomic sequence data into a restrained product grammar: clean white work surfaces, luminous cool accents, and tiny quantized marks that clarify state, lineage, and selection without becoming biotech clip art. ### Values - Precision before decoration - White space as the primary material - Genomic motifs as product-state language - Limited luminous accent families - Readable professional data work over spectacle ### Anti-Values - Literal DNA helix wallpaper, molecule ornaments, or textbook biology diagrams - Decorative square-grid/dotted backgrounds, colored side rails, card stripes, chipped corners, or retro game-pixel skins - Rainbow palette sprawl and generic medical SaaS dashboard tropes ### Visual Character - Cards use flat white and warm-neutral surfaces with a single 1px cool-gray border and consistent 18px radius, avoiding arbitrary mixed rounding. - Sequence motifs appear as short inline runs of 4-by-6px rounded micro-rectangles and lettered nucleobase chips attached to labels, tabs, fields, and selected data rows. - Primary hierarchy is built from a wide specimen workspace paired with a narrow verification column, with one overlapping floating sequence inspector breaking the main grid. - Accent color is reserved for meaningful genomic states: indigo for active selection, turquoise for matched sequence, green for confirmed variant, and amber only for review warnings. - Focus and hover states move tiny sequence pixels along the component edge or fill nucleobase chips, so motion expresses quantized genomic scanning rather than generic opacity fades. ## Tokens ### Borders - **Accent Width**: 1px - **Character**: Quiet cool-gray outlines; # Sequence Lumen Interface
## Overview
Sequence Lumen Interface turns genomic sequence data into a restrained product grammar: clean white work surfaces, luminous cool accents, and tiny quantized marks that clarify state, lineage, and selection without becoming biotech clip art.
### Values
- Precision before decoration
- White space as the primary material
- Genomic motifs as product-state language
- Limited luminous accent families
- Readable professional data work over spectacle
### Anti-Values
- Literal DNA helix wallpaper, molecule ornaments, or textbook biology diagrams
- Decorative square-grid/dotted backgrounds, colored side rails, card stripes, chipped corners, or retro game-pixel skins
- Rainbow palette sprawl and generic medical SaaS dashboard tropes
### Visual Character
- Cards use flat white and warm-neutral surfaces with a single 1px cool-gray border and consistent 18px radius, avoiding arbitrary mixed rounding.

## shadcn/ui Usage
When the target app uses shadcn/ui, copy DESIGN.md with shadcn instead of the plain DESIGN.md. It contains the same Katagami design-language source plus the shadcn/ui primitives, imports, theme variables, component recipes, and preview-shot guidance.
DESIGN.md with shadcn: `/language/en-019e4bd5-207f-7f41-befb-b71be55095ed/DESIGN.with-shadcn.md`.
The shadcn page also exposes optional machine-readable files for automation, but the human-facing handoff is DESIGN.md with shadcn.
Install recommended primitives with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.
Use these primitives in shadcn apps:
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Implementation rule for agents: import shadcn primitives from `@/components/ui/*`, apply the generated CSS variables first, then compose the language-specific recipes from the companion MD. Katagami remains the source of truth; shadcn names are the implementation surface.
## Do's and Don'ts
- Do Use sequence pixels only where they carry selection, match, focus, or lineage meaning.
- Do Keep backgrounds white or warm-neutral with no dotted or square-grid texture.
- Do Reserve turquoise, indigo, and green accents for concrete states and keep warning amber rare.
- Do Give one artifact or inspector visual dominance instead of equal-card rows.
- Don't Do not use literal DNA helix wallpaper, molecule decorations, lab glassware, or textbook diagrams.
- Don't Do not add colored left rails, side stripes, chipped corners, uneven borders, or default dotted backgrounds.
- Don't Do not let rainbow status colors, generic dashboard metrics, or medical-SaaS chrome replace the sequence grammar.
- Don't Do not scatter pixel marks as a game skin; make them small, precise, and product-functional.

# Sequence Lumen Interface shadcn/ui Components
Artifact: `component-recipes-v1`
Author: `katagami-ui-projection`
Language ID: `en-019e4bd5-207f-7f41-befb-b71be55095ed`
Slug: `sequence-lumen-interface`
## Intent
Sequence Lumen Interface turns genomic sequence data into a restrained product grammar: clean white work surfaces, luminous cool accents, and tiny quantized marks that clarify state, lineage, and selection without becoming biotech clip art.
## Required primitives
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Install with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.

## Visual character to preserve
- Cards use flat white and warm-neutral surfaces with a single 1px cool-gray border and consistent 18px radius, avoiding arbitrary mixed rounding.
## ShadSync visual profile

## Signature component recipes
### Button
Use `Button` for primary, secondary, outline, and ghost actions. Primary actions must expose the language's strongest contrast pair, while secondary and ghost actions should preserve the surface treatment instead of falling back to default neutral SaaS styling.
### Card
Use `Card`, `CardHeader`, `CardContent`, `CardFooter`, and `CardAction` as the main composition frame. Cards should demonstrate the language's surface, border, hierarchy, and density rules rather than appearing as generic rounded rectangles.
### Input and Textarea
Use `Input` and `Textarea` with visible focus rings, field labels, validation states, and the language's rhythm. Forms should show real product content, not placeholder-only controls.
### Select, Tabs, and Table
Use `Select`, `Tabs`, and `Table` to prove navigation, filtering, and dense data states. The table should show row rhythm, separators, hover/focus states, and an empty or status state when the language calls for it.
### Dialog and Sheet
Use `Dialog` for centered decisions and `Sheet` for contextual editing. Both should inherit the language's spacing, border, overlay, and motion rules.
## Preview shots
- `application-shell`: dashboard or workspace shell with navigation, cards, forms, and state badges.
- `detail-editor`: focused editing flow using input, textarea, select, switch/checkbox, dialog or sheet, and action buttons.
- `data-operations`: table-heavy operational view with tabs, dropdown menu affordances, badges, and destructive/empty states.
- Each preview shot must include a renderable `scene` payload with concrete headline, description, actions, and rows/fields/stats for the UI preview.
## Implementation contract
- Start from local `ui/src/components/ui` shadcn-style primitives; do not create a second component system.
- Apply `/katagami/shadcn/sequence-lumen-interface/registry-theme.json` variables, then use these recipes for composition and state design.
- Preserve Katagami token names as source metadata; shadcn semantic names are only the export surface.
- Do: Use sequence pixels only where they carry selection, match, focus, or lineage meaning.; Keep backgrounds white or warm-neutral with no dotted or square-grid texture.; Reserve turquoise, indigo, and green accents for concrete states and keep warning amber rare.; Give one artifact or inspector visual dominance instead of equal-card rows.
- Do not: Do not use literal DNA helix wallpaper, molecule decorations, lab glassware, or textbook diagrams.; Do not add colored left rails, side stripes, chipped corners, uneven borders, or default dotted backgrounds.; Do not let rainbow status colors, generic dashboard metrics, or medical-SaaS chrome replace the sequence grammar.; Do not scatter pixel marks as a game skin; make them small, precise, and product-functional.
## Copy-paste component example
This generated starter proves the import shape. Production Katagami agents should replace it with a language-specific product composition.
