rules
Compose one dominant consumer product artifact with asymmetric supporting controls; unframed whitespace carries hierarchy before panels are added.
Airy consumer density with compact pixel metadata; large gaps are 8x tighter control gaps to keep the interface premium and calm.
Use type voice, proximity, and cool-electric state color to separate preview, controls, and annotations; only one primary action may use the full indigo fill.
layout
desktop 1200px, tablet 760px, mobile 420px with high-variance regions collapsed before overflow
Desktop uses a 12-column CSS grid with a deliberate dominant artifact spanning seven columns and a control stack spanning four, collapsing to two columns on tablet and one on mobile.
Whitespace is a structural material: 8px for control internals, 16px for field groups, 32px for panel groups, and 64px for scene separation.
guidance
- Use pixel typography only for labels, counters, badges, display numerals, and concise annotations.
- Keep backgrounds white or ice neutral with no square grid and no repeated dotted texture.
- Make indigo, cyan, and lime each carry a clear hierarchy or state meaning.
- Style every form control with inset rings, rounded white surfaces, and visible focus states.
- Do not use decorative left rails, card stripes, chipped corners, uneven borders, or blocky game motifs.
- Do not turn the palette into rainbow neon or add unrelated warm colors except semantic warning/error tokens.
- Do not use generic dashboard card rows, terminal hacker styling, or low-resolution body text.
- Do not nest cards; separate related controls with spacing, typography, and hairline dividers.

# Polar Pixel Atelier ## Philosophy A clean consumer product language where white Apple-like surfaces are organized by precise pixel sequences, cool indigo command color, cyan active affordances, and a tiny lime confirmation spark. Pixel identity is treated as calibration and certainty rather than retro gaming. ### Values - premium restraint with vivid color only at decision points - pixel cues as precision markers for sequencing, focus, and state - consumer-friendly readability with typographic accents instead of low-resolution gimmicks - tactile white surfaces that feel assembled, not decorated ### Anti-Values - arcade nostalgia, Minecraft blockiness, terminal hacker darkness, or cyberpunk glow - generic SaaS dashboards, ornamental side rails, square grid backgrounds, and color used as garnish - low-readability pixel fonts in body copy or overloaded neon palettes ### Visual Character - White and ice-neutral canvases use large unframed spacing with a few 1px blue-tinted hairline panels and no background grid or default dot texture. - Pixel identity appears as short inline sequences of 4px rounded micro-squares, stepped progress ticks, and square numeric counters embedded in controls rather than as wallpaper. - Primary surfaces use a disciplined 18px radius with flat white fill, inset cyan focus rings, and very soft blue-tinted shadows instead of generic gray card elevation. - Typography pairs rounded premium sans headings with a readable grotesk body and a pixel-influenced mono only for labels, numerals, badges, and code-like annotations. - Color hierarchy reserves indigo for command structure, cyan/turquoise for active selection, and lime for confirmed ready states so the cool-electric family stays narrow and meaningful. ## Tokens ### Borders - **Accent Width**: 2px - **Character**: crisp continuous contours with committed 18px radius and short pixel tick groups used separately from borders - **Default Width**: 1px - **Style**: solid with cool blue tint, inset focus rings, and no decorative side rails ### Colors | Name | Value | |------|-------| | accent | `#C8F235` | | background | `#F8FAFD` | | border | `#D8E2EE` | | error | `#C83E5A` | | info | `#0AAEC8` | | muted | `#6C788C` | | primary | `#2636C9` | | secondary | `#10C8D6` | | success | `#6FAE16` | | surface | `#FFFFFF` | | text | `#132033` | | warning | `#A87900` | ### Motion - **Duration**: 180ms - **Easing**: cubic-bezier(0.2, 0.8, 0.2, 1) - **Philosophy**: active elements snap by one pixel step, lift 2px on command, and reveal pixel ticks in order; # Polar Pixel Atelier
## Overview
A clean consumer product language where white Apple-like surfaces are organized by precise pixel sequences, cool indigo command color, cyan active affordances, and a tiny lime confirmation spark. Pixel identity is treated as calibration and certainty rather than retro gaming.
### Values
- premium restraint with vivid color only at decision points
- pixel cues as precision markers for sequencing, focus, and state
- consumer-friendly readability with typographic accents instead of low-resolution gimmicks
- tactile white surfaces that feel assembled, not decorated
### Anti-Values
- arcade nostalgia, Minecraft blockiness, terminal hacker darkness, or cyberpunk glow
- generic SaaS dashboards, ornamental side rails, square grid backgrounds, and color used as garnish
- low-readability pixel fonts in body copy or overloaded neon palettes
### Visual Character
- White and ice-neutral canvases use large unframed spacing with a few 1px blue-tinted hairline panels and no background grid or default dot texture.

## Components
### Composition
Compose one dominant consumer product artifact with asymmetric supporting controls; unframed whitespace carries hierarchy before panels are added.
### Density
Airy consumer density with compact pixel metadata; large gaps are 8x tighter control gaps to keep the interface premium and calm.
### Hierarchy
Use type voice, proximity, and cool-electric state color to separate preview, controls, and annotations; only one primary action may use the full indigo fill.
### Signature Patterns
- Inline pixel sequences are 4px rounded square runs that appear next to labels, counters, and ready states, changing count or color to communicate progress.
- Inset cyan focus wells use a 2px inner ring and pale cyan fill on selected fields, tabs, and segment buttons instead of outer glow or side stripes.
- Square-cut mono numerals sit inside 8px-radius capsules with tiny pixel ticks, giving measurements a precise digital identity while body copy remains smooth.
- Dominant artifact break: one large preview panel intentionally crosses the main column rhythm while smaller controls orbit it with strict proximity grouping.
- Lime appears only as a small confirmation chip, check pixel, or final tick so vivid color has semantic weight rather than palette sprawl.
## shadcn/ui Usage
When the target app uses shadcn/ui, copy DESIGN.md with shadcn instead of the plain DESIGN.md. It contains the same Katagami design-language source plus the shadcn/ui primitives, imports, theme variables, component recipes, and preview-shot guidance.
DESIGN.md with shadcn: `/language/en-019e4bf6-90ab-7d82-86da-f8bf93ceed5f/DESIGN.with-shadcn.md`.
The shadcn page also exposes optional machine-readable files for automation, but the human-facing handoff is DESIGN.md with shadcn.
Install recommended primitives with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.
Use these primitives in shadcn apps:
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Implementation rule for agents: import shadcn primitives from `@/components/ui/*`, apply the generated CSS variables first, then compose the language-specific recipes from the companion MD. Katagami remains the source of truth; shadcn names are the implementation surface.
## Do's and Don'ts
- Do Use pixel typography only for labels, counters, badges, display numerals, and concise annotations.
- Do Keep backgrounds white or ice neutral with no square grid and no repeated dotted texture.
- Do Make indigo, cyan, and lime each carry a clear hierarchy or state meaning.
- Do Style every form control with inset rings, rounded white surfaces, and visible focus states.
- Don't Do not use decorative left rails, card stripes, chipped corners, uneven borders, or blocky game motifs.
- Don't Do not turn the palette into rainbow neon or add unrelated warm colors except semantic warning/error tokens.
- Don't Do not use generic dashboard card rows, terminal hacker styling, or low-resolution body text.
- Don't Do not nest cards; separate related controls with spacing, typography, and hairline dividers.

# Polar Pixel Atelier shadcn/ui Components
Artifact: `component-recipes-v1`
Author: `katagami-ui-projection`
Language ID: `en-019e4bf6-90ab-7d82-86da-f8bf93ceed5f`
Slug: `polar-pixel-atelier`
## Intent
A clean consumer product language where white Apple-like surfaces are organized by precise pixel sequences, cool indigo command color, cyan active affordances, and a tiny lime confirmation spark. Pixel identity is treated as calibration and certainty rather than retro gaming.
## Required primitives
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Install with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.

## Visual character to preserve
- White and ice-neutral canvases use large unframed spacing with a few 1px blue-tinted hairline panels and no background grid or default dot texture.
## ShadSync visual profile

## Signature component recipes
### Button
Use `Button` for primary, secondary, outline, and ghost actions. Primary actions must expose the language's strongest contrast pair, while secondary and ghost actions should preserve the surface treatment instead of falling back to default neutral SaaS styling.
### Card
Use `Card`, `CardHeader`, `CardContent`, `CardFooter`, and `CardAction` as the main composition frame. Cards should demonstrate the language's surface, border, hierarchy, and density rules rather than appearing as generic rounded rectangles.
### Input and Textarea
Use `Input` and `Textarea` with visible focus rings, field labels, validation states, and the language's rhythm. Forms should show real product content, not placeholder-only controls.
### Select, Tabs, and Table
Use `Select`, `Tabs`, and `Table` to prove navigation, filtering, and dense data states. The table should show row rhythm, separators, hover/focus states, and an empty or status state when the language calls for it.
### Dialog and Sheet
Use `Dialog` for centered decisions and `Sheet` for contextual editing. Both should inherit the language's spacing, border, overlay, and motion rules.
## Preview shots
- `application-shell`: dashboard or workspace shell with navigation, cards, forms, and state badges.
- `detail-editor`: focused editing flow using input, textarea, select, switch/checkbox, dialog or sheet, and action buttons.
- `data-operations`: table-heavy operational view with tabs, dropdown menu affordances, badges, and destructive/empty states.
- Each preview shot must include a renderable `scene` payload with concrete headline, description, actions, and rows/fields/stats for the UI preview.
## Implementation contract
- Start from local `ui/src/components/ui` shadcn-style primitives; do not create a second component system.
- Apply `/katagami/shadcn/polar-pixel-atelier/registry-theme.json` variables, then use these recipes for composition and state design.
- Preserve Katagami token names as source metadata; shadcn semantic names are only the export surface.
- Do: Use pixel typography only for labels, counters, badges, display numerals, and concise annotations.; Keep backgrounds white or ice neutral with no square grid and no repeated dotted texture.; Make indigo, cyan, and lime each carry a clear hierarchy or state meaning.; Style every form control with inset rings, rounded white surfaces, and visible focus states.
- Do not: Do not use decorative left rails, card stripes, chipped corners, uneven borders, or blocky game motifs.; Do not turn the palette into rainbow neon or add unrelated warm colors except semantic warning/error tokens.; Do not use generic dashboard card rows, terminal hacker styling, or low-resolution body text.; Do not nest cards; separate related controls with spacing, typography, and hairline dividers.
## Copy-paste component example
This generated starter proves the import shape. Production Katagami agents should replace it with a language-specific product composition.
