rules
Screens should read as plan-view interiors: one dominant room or pool map takes half the canvas while service panels attach like tiled alcoves.
Medium-high operational density is allowed inside gridded panels, but every cluster must occupy clear 8px increments with room-like pauses between zones.
Hierarchy comes from tile scale, channel color, and border weight: larger ceramic rooms first, blue channels second, terracotta caps for irreversible or warm actions.
layout
mobile 375px stacks rooms vertically; tablet 768px keeps map first with two-column service niches; desktop 1440px uses map plus right utility wing.
8px base tile grid; desktop uses 12 columns over a room-plan shell, with nested 6- and 4-column grids inside panels.
Whitespace behaves like grout and courtyard space: tight 8-12px inside controls, 32-64px between functional rooms.
guidance
- Align every visible edge to the 8px tile rhythm.
- Use blue as a continuous route or state channel, not a random accent.
- Let one dominant room-scale artifact carry the scene.
- Keep typography crisp with monospace labels for coordinates and measurements.
- Do not use neon 8-bit nostalgia or game-character mascots.
- Do not round every card into generic SaaS pills.
- Do not sprinkle pixels where they do not mark joints, thresholds, or data points.
- Do not use soft glass shadows or blurred translucent panels.

# Poolhouse Tilemap Interiors
## Overview
Poolhouse Tilemap Interiors treats a product screen like a sunlit tiled room: ceramic modules, pool-water wayfinding, terracotta thresholds, and terrazzo pixel matter organize work without nostalgic game cosplay.
### Values
- room-scale interface architecture
- ceramic restraint over arcade noise
- legible low-resolution modularity
- warm service-product tactility
### Anti-Values
- neon retro-gaming pastiche
- generic white SaaS cards
- random pixel decoration without spatial function
- soft glassmorphism gradients
### Visual Character
- Use an 8px tile unit with visible grout-line borders and background grid seams that align cards, controls, charts, and navigation.
- Build major surfaces from square ceramic panels with 0px to 6px radii, two-tone inset borders, and no floating blur shadows.
- Apply pool-blue strips as wayfinding channels that run through tabs, selected rows, progress bars, and active navigation cells.
- Use terracotta block caps and terrazzo pixel clusters only at thresholds, status chips, map markers, and section joints.
- Compose pages as nested room plans: one large floor-map panel, side service niches, and compact sprite-like control blocks.
## Colors

## Components
### Composition
Screens should read as plan-view interiors: one dominant room or pool map takes half the canvas while service panels attach like tiled alcoves.
### Density
Medium-high operational density is allowed inside gridded panels, but every cluster must occupy clear 8px increments with room-like pauses between zones.
### Hierarchy
Hierarchy comes from tile scale, channel color, and border weight: larger ceramic rooms first, blue channels second, terracotta caps for irreversible or warm actions.
### Signature Patterns
- Tilemap floor panel: a large CSS grid with differently colored square cells, inset labels, and blue route segments that make data feel spatial.
- Grout double-border cards: surfaces use tan 1px outer lines, white inset highlights, and a 4px colored edge to mark selected rooms or tools.
- Terrazzo pixel joints: small 4px square clusters appear at card corners, badges, and chart endpoints to create material identity without confetti.
- Sprite control blocks: buttons, inputs, and tabs snap to square proportions with monospace coordinate labels and stepped hover translation.
- Pool channel navigation: active paths are continuous blue strips spanning nav items, table selection, progress indicators, and map routes.
## shadcn/ui Usage
When the target app uses shadcn/ui, copy DESIGN.md with shadcn instead of the plain DESIGN.md. It contains the same Katagami design-language source plus the shadcn/ui primitives, imports, theme variables, component recipes, and preview-shot guidance.
DESIGN.md with shadcn: `/language/en-019e6996-ee56-7053-b44b-d27992f9c3a0/DESIGN.with-shadcn.md`.
The shadcn page also exposes optional machine-readable files for automation, but the human-facing handoff is DESIGN.md with shadcn.
Install recommended primitives with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.
Use these primitives in shadcn apps:
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Implementation rule for agents: import shadcn primitives from `@/components/ui/*`, apply the generated CSS variables first, then compose the language-specific recipes from the companion MD. Katagami remains the source of truth; shadcn names are the implementation surface.
## Do's and Don'ts
- Do Align every visible edge to the 8px tile rhythm.
- Do Use blue as a continuous route or state channel, not a random accent.
- Do Let one dominant room-scale artifact carry the scene.
- Do Keep typography crisp with monospace labels for coordinates and measurements.
- Don't Do not use neon 8-bit nostalgia or game-character mascots.
- Don't Do not round every card into generic SaaS pills.
- Don't Do not sprinkle pixels where they do not mark joints, thresholds, or data points.
- Don't Do not use soft glass shadows or blurred translucent panels.

# Poolhouse Tilemap Interiors shadcn/ui Components
Artifact: `component-recipes-v1`
Author: `katagami-ui-projection`

Slug: `poolhouse-tilemap-interiors`
## Intent
Poolhouse Tilemap Interiors treats a product screen like a sunlit tiled room: ceramic modules, pool-water wayfinding, terracotta thresholds, and terrazzo pixel matter organize work without nostalgic game cosplay.
## Required primitives
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Install with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.

## Visual character to preserve

## Signature component recipes
### Button
Use `Button` for primary, secondary, outline, and ghost actions. Primary actions must expose the language's strongest contrast pair, while secondary and ghost actions should preserve the surface treatment instead of falling back to default neutral SaaS styling.
### Card
Use `Card`, `CardHeader`, `CardContent`, `CardFooter`, and `CardAction` as the main composition frame. Cards should demonstrate the language's surface, border, hierarchy, and density rules rather than appearing as generic rounded rectangles.
### Input and Textarea
Use `Input` and `Textarea` with visible focus rings, field labels, validation states, and the language's rhythm. Forms should show real product content, not placeholder-only controls.
### Select, Tabs, and Table
Use `Select`, `Tabs`, and `Table` to prove navigation, filtering, and dense data states. The table should show row rhythm, separators, hover/focus states, and an empty or status state when the language calls for it.
### Dialog and Sheet
Use `Dialog` for centered decisions and `Sheet` for contextual editing. Both should inherit the language's spacing, border, overlay, and motion rules.
## Preview shots
- `application-shell`: dashboard or workspace shell with navigation, cards, forms, and state badges.
- `detail-editor`: focused editing flow using input, textarea, select, switch/checkbox, dialog or sheet, and action buttons.
- `data-operations`: table-heavy operational view with tabs, dropdown menu affordances, badges, and destructive/empty states.
- Each preview shot must include a renderable `scene` payload with concrete headline, description, actions, and rows/fields/stats for the UI preview.
## Implementation contract
- Start from local `ui/src/components/ui` shadcn-style primitives; do not create a second component system.
- Apply `/katagami/shadcn/poolhouse-tilemap-interiors/registry-theme.json` variables, then use these recipes for composition and state design.
- Preserve Katagami token names as source metadata; shadcn semantic names are only the export surface.
- Do: Align every visible edge to the 8px tile rhythm.; Use blue as a continuous route or state channel, not a random accent.; Let one dominant room-scale artifact carry the scene.; Keep typography crisp with monospace labels for coordinates and measurements.
- Do not: Do not use neon 8-bit nostalgia or game-character mascots.; Do not round every card into generic SaaS pills.; Do not sprinkle pixels where they do not mark joints, thresholds, or data points.; Do not use soft glass shadows or blurred translucent panels.
## Copy-paste component example
This generated starter proves the import shape. Production Katagami agents should replace it with a language-specific product composition.
```tsx
