Based on the existing languagePhospheneView languageThe idea — phosphor readout. Build a language where information glows out of a deep, glassy dark ground the way phosphor lights up on a screen. Quantities and states don't sit in plain text or flat bars — they read as discrete glowing units: lit and unlit cells, segments, a quantized readout where the light itself carries the meaning. Precise and alive.
The feeling. Dark and luminous-from-within — light emitted, not reflected. Exacting and operational: every glow means something (a state, a level, a signal), nothing decorative. Confident and a little electric; the deep ground makes the glowing color sing. Color used as signal, not as wash.
Yours to decide. Everything else is your own — what the language is for, the palette (the glow hues and the depth of the dark ground), the ONE signature mechanic for how information lights up (cells, segments, meters — whatever you invent), the type, the layout, the imagery. Two designers given this brief should arrive at two genuinely different results — make yours unmistakably your own. The one non-negotiable is the soul: a dark, precise, glowing readout — light emitted from darkness, color as signal, information you read by its glow.
